Richard Dale Sipe

Richard Dale Sipe, of Seattle, Washington, passed away on July 21, 2018. Richard was born in Atchison, Kansas in 1933 and grew up in Port Orchard, Washington. He served in the Army, worked in a Boeing factory, and earned a degree from the University of Washington. His career as a civil servant brought him to White Sands, Washington DC, and to Boston, where he retired from the Veterans Administration.

A keen outdoorsman, he was active in the Mountaineers and hosted historical tours of Seattle's Pioneer Square; he was equally keen for his chair and a history book. Above all, he was a devoted family man.

He leaves behind his wife, Jean; his sons, Peter and Byron; his sisters, Helen and Virginia; and his granddaughters, Frances and Lucy. Donations can be made in his name to your local public library.
