Richard "Rick" Slack

Richard "Rick" Slack, 55, of Newbern, died Friday, Dec. 18, 2009 at University of Louisville Hospital in Louisville, Ky. He was a salesman and a member of Main Street Church of Christ. Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Johnson-Williams Funeral Home with the Rev. Perry Grills and Bro. Sean Sullivan officiating. Burial will be in Poplar Grove Cemetery in Newbern. The family will receive visitors from 2-5 p.m. today at the funeral home. Survivors include his wife, Patsy Murray Slack of Newbern; a daughter, Heather Willene Slack of Newbern; two sisters, Carol Slack of Jackson and Linda Slack Souki of Davis, Calif.; a niece and two nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Paul and Bettie Wise Slack. Pallbearers will be Ricky Ezell, Shane Goff, David Greer, Michael Marvin, Ricky Marvin and Corey Slack. Honorary pallbearers will be men of Main Street Church of Christ. The family requests that any memorials be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
