Not sure what to say?

Richard was a kind gentle soul who welcomed me as part of the family. I remember well him sharing new additions to his stamp and coin collection of which he was very proud. He also made me feel at home during our visits to Roanoke. We will miss him as we do Sara, and Cindy. I know they are now celebrating together again. We will miss you Richard.

I worked with "Smitty" for many years,he was always fun to be around and a good guy....will miss him.

Richard loved and cared for his wife Sara (my sister) and children and grandchildren. He suffered silently as he lost his wife and daughter--and I do not think he ever recovered from that loss. He never like doctors (except for me). He enjoyed his coins and stamps and always loved to show his new acquisitions. I love him for his caring and will miss him.

I have lots of memories of "Smitty". One of a kind...he will be missed.

My father was a very stubborn and strong willed person. He did things his way. A big thanks to his friends that have been there for him over the years.
