Read MoreThe Van Smith farm house was such an iconic landmark in the Hickory area for so many decades, and I finally got to meet Dick there back in the summer 1978 or 1979 with Jack Ferrell, when Dick was hard at work with the cows. That was definitely a memorable experience that I´ll never forget.
