Not sure what to say?

Whenever I think back to Richard, get a big smile on my face. This is one way his spirit lives through others.

Very sad to see this. Richard and I went to high school together in Dutchess County, N.Y. graduating in 1965. Stayed at our home many times when a long weekend was easier coming to Long Island than going to Cleveland.

Richard was so wonderful to work with when he was and editor for Hazelden...you will be missed!

Richard had a beautiful, wonderful sensibility.

I met Richard in August 1981 He had a strong influence on my life. Still sober after all those years

I worked with Richard at Hazelden Publishing for more than six years. I always enjoyed our lunchtime chats and the fun outings we had with our close knit work group. We were so proud of Richard when he earned his master's at Hazelden even after going through illness. I remember him getting the most applause at the ceremony. I am saddened to hear of his passing and will always think of him fondly.

Richard and I were friends many years ago. He was smart, gentle, intuitive, generous, kind and had a sharp wit and a wonderful laugh. He loved his daughter more than anything. We have lost a real treasure, but Richard's legacy is rich and enduring. Sorry about your tackle box, my friend.

What a wonderful, inspiring man. He will be missed.

Richard and I shared victories and struggles together. He was always a source of strength in difficult times and a great source of humor in those best of times. He was a groomsman with my son at Julie's and my wedding. We will miss him...many will miss him!
