Not sure what to say?

My belated condolences to the Sowinski Family. He embodied the all the qualities of a U.S. Marine. For that I admired and respected him. He was an educator as well. I first met him at Lincoln West. He was my water safety/swim instructor. I took the class because of a potentially life ending experience the prior Summer. I tried saving a girl from drowning at the old Brookside pool in the Summer of 1975. I did the best I could until the lifeguard rescued the girl. The experience left me with a...

May God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow.

Dear Paula and Family,

I am so sorry for your loss. May the lord hold your dad in the palm of his hand. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

My sincere condolences to the Sowinski family. When I was a senior in high school at Rhodes,1966, it was Dick's first year as a Head Coach at Lincoln it was a hard fought game. Dick was the first Head Coach that I worked under for 5 years starting in 1973 at Lincoln-West. I learned about respect and organization from Dick. He was an icon in the coaching profession. May he rest in peace.

Mr. Sowinski was my commando teacher at John Adams High in 63-64 school year. Thanks to Mr. Sowinski and his PT in commando class it made my time in the U.S.Army much easier during boot camp and through out my time in the military, he taught us discipline and respect .
Allow me to pay this small tribute to Mr.Sowinski.
There is an old tradition,I believe is Corp. wide. It salutes our Brothers who have passed to the other side.

First met Dick around 1950 when I was about 16 years of age, Dick was about a year younger I believe, I was really impressed with his spit-shined shoes. Shoes with such a high gloss finish, that you could see your own reflection.
Until that time I had no idea what spit-shined shoes were.
1953 three buddies & I were about to be drafted, so we decided to enlist in the Marine Corp. I think Dick enlisted a year later. Didn't see Dick again till about 1956 or shortly after he was...

Our thoughts & prayers are with Your Family at this difficult time. My husband has fond thoughts of Dick in their younger years at West Tech & their baseball teams. God Bless you all.

We have many years of fond memories that will always be remembered of Uncle Dick. The Lincoln West football games and pizza after, swimming in the pool, holidays at grandmas and many more! He was admired and respected, patriotic, loyal and devoted to his family. He will be missed but always remembered.
Thoughts and prayers,
The Weber children and their families.
