Richard W. Spiers

The Spiers family is in our thoughts and prayers during this tough time.

Rich Spiers was a good friend of mine and my late husband Allen Russell. We knew Rich at SUNY Albany and shared many memorable times. He was a true gentleman and sincere in his friendship. For 15 years Rich has made generous donations to a charity in Als memory which says much about his person. I was not able to attend his wake to share my heartfelt condolences with his family. As they are well aware, we all lost a good one who will be dearly remembered as a class act.

It was one of the saddest days of my life to learn of Richs passing. Our heartfelt condolences go to Mark and the entire family. Rich was truly a special person! Extremely shocked and saddened to hear of my dear friends passing. He was one class actkind, thoughtful, considerate, a great sportsman and friend of our family. My sincere condolences to Patty, Mark, Robin and families. Im so grateful I got to see and hug him this summer. What a loss!

He was a true friend to my family. Rich and I would always find time around the holidays to have a few beers in one of the Port Schuyler bars together and talk just about anything! Been a friend of Rich,s for many years. We did sports officiating together, played a lot of golf and socialized on many occasions.
