Not sure what to say?

He was a calming influence and voice of reason on the Hoyt Arboretum board. What a wonderful person.

Anne &Richard,I´m sorry to hear about your fathers passing. He was a very kind man,who will be missed by many.

Anne and Richard, I am so sad to hear of your dad´s passing. He was a very special man and a great friend. I grew up calling him "Uncle Dick", and he truly was just like family. My husband and I were on our way down to Palm Springs last Sunday, and had made plans to visit him, but found the obituary that morning, explaining why I had not heard from him. Our prayers are with you and your family.

Dick was such a kind and caring person. He will be missed by everyone who knew him.

We feel our lives were blessed with our special friendship with Dick. He became "part of our family" as he took a special interest in our sons and grandchildren. What a privilege to share a bit of life with him both in the desert and here in Portland.

I will always remember Dick for his smile, his kindness and his genuine care for the people around him. He was that way the first time I met him in 1978 when he volunteered with our Rose Festival Court and every time thereafter when we got together over the years. A one in a million soul. God bless him.

My condolences to the family of sweet Dick. He was a dear friend from grade school and high school.

I remember Dick and Jane at various family get-togethers. I remember sitting across from them at My cousin Teresa's wedding in Canby.

Anne and Richard, I'm so sorry for the loss of your beloved father. Your dad was dear to me and I will miss him. For decades, he has been a steadfast friend and mentor, always caring, encouraging, interested, insightful and quick with a laugh. He was one of a kind and I was so blessed to have both your dad and mom in my life. I hold you and your family in my heart and prayers.
