Not sure what to say?

Stignani's on Broadway was my last stop of the day many evenings after work. Mr. Richard and Bernie served the best homemade quick meals that could be found. I always had to purchase 2 warm breads because I usually ate most of one before I could get home. Their warm conversations would also be a treat at the end of my day. Y'all's store was always the rule of what others had to measure up to. My sincere sympathy to Mr. Stignani's family and friends. PMc

Bernie and Derek, I am so sorry to read of Richard´s death. We have fond memories of our boys growing up together. Praying for you !!

My husband, Gene Easley worked for Liberty from the age of 16 to the closing of the stores. He considered the Stignani family not just his employer but his great friends. He loved Mr. D.C. & Richard. We have many fond memories of your family. Sadly Gene passed away December of 2024. Needless to say there is a void that will never go away. I know you will miss Richard so much. I am so sorry for your loss of a good man. Will pray for your comfort & peace. I´m sure he & Gene are enjoying...

I met Richard when the Fresh Market first opened in English Village. He was a lovely man and his fabulous grocery was a first for Birmingham. Many of us still miss it. Was happy to find him again later in Homewood and enjoy fresh tomatoes (and pimento cheese). He will be missed.
