Oh. Wow. This one hurts. Mr. Storey was one of the most impactful teachers I ever had. Homeroom & social studies. Coach & mentor. Counselor. He earned my trust and respect right away. He made it clear he had high expectations for me at a time when I needed that nudge.

Coach Storey gave this young man a chance to play JV basketball at Medina back in 1981. I could have easily been lost in the crowd, but he saw potential in this little Irish Catholic kid from a nice family. Two years later in my senior year that JV team was the first and last Medina team to qualify for the State Final Four.
