Not sure what to say?

I can’t express how much this man meant to me. I wasn’t living in CT when he died. I moved back a few months after his passing. I wanted to reach out to him, and I was informed that he was no longer with us. This man was like a father to me. He was an angel in my life. I cry about his death once a week. He said the most lovely things about his wife and daughter. The world is a darker place, without “sugey” as I affectionately called him, in it. I don’t know if he’ll ever know how much I loved...

Dear Linda,Casey and Laura,
Having heard so much so often about Dick from me (privileged to be a Brown University roommate of Dick's for 4 years), my wife, Dr. Virginia Lupo Ankeny, and I were delighted to spend such quality time with Dick at our Brown University 50th reunion late May of 2018 shortly before his passing.....and the conversation my wife,Dick and I enjoyed late into the night in my room at the historic Biltmore Hotel in downtown Providence was so reminiscent of our...

Devasted to find out this news so late. Rest in peace, ol'
Brown Jabberwock mentor! Drew Steketee Brown '71

Dear Linda, Casey, and Laura,
I send you my heartfelt condolences on Dicks sudden passing. It went beyond sadness when I just happened to be thinking of Dick and found out he had died.
I have two works that Tracy gave me at our graduation: a Don Quijote painting (for the Spanish major) and a wonderful pen and ink work of a runner( for the runner). Looking at them, I thought of Dick, googled his name and read obituary. It seemed Dicks spirit has channeled through his fathers...

Richard was a very king man, obvious giving, yet expecting nothing in return. It was an honor to say that I knew him, as I'm just now discovering his greatness and contributions to all that knew him ! Others, I have spoke to , that knew him, expressed their thankfulness to him helping them, and their business getting started. This world could use a lot more of Richard Sugarman's !!!
God Bless his family and friends, for the loss of one of God's best work !

I am wrapping my arms around Richard's family. Richard was a beloved, influential, enthusiastic participant and leader of our Staples HS class. He was great fun to be with, and one of my very good friends in those junior and senior high years. We navigated our identities and beliefs together. We were JFK and Civil Rights "kids," we thought we'd change the world, and I daresay we put a few DINGS in the "wall" with our efforts. It was a joy to grow up with him! I remember a sail effort on...

My confidant my teacher, my friend,
I miss our weekly sessions, where I could cry, tell you my deepest, darkest feelings with no judgement, laugh, talk about our home, NYC. About your beloved boat and the love you had for your wife and daughter. I miss you dear Richard. Thank you for letting get to know you and for the help you have given me.

Dear Richard, You dragged me up out of the pit of despair, had me dust myself off, and set me on the road to my best life, as you have done for countless others.Your wisdom, humor and deep sense of justice will always inspire me. You managed to simplify my most tangled conundrums and gave me good, solid hope. I am so grateful for the five years you gave me safe harbor and for the incredible stories of your singular life. Missing you is a given, but you remain beside all of us. My...
