Not sure what to say?

Dear Pat,
I was out of the country and just learned of Dick's death. My heartfelt condolences for you and the family. The fond memories he leaves with me survive.

Dear Kathy and family,
We are sorry to hear of the passing of Judge Swan. He was such a great man and very special to our family especially Nick. His life was one of inspiration that cannot be captured in the short obituary. He inspired so many people and sent them on the right path. He served the country in many capacities. He survived adversity and became a true leader in the community. He was also a joy and a lot of fun to be around. We will miss him. I hope that someone can write...

To the family, my deepest condolences.
A few of us old Benician's were just talking about Judge Swan, and how his famous words in his courtroom, when he saw a few regulars in front of him quite often, were "If I see you in my courtroom again, you'll be in trouble". Of course he saw them again and again, and said the same thing. He had the respect of the entire town.
Rest in peace, Judge. You will be missed.

To the entire Swan Family, I wish to send my heartfelt condolences to you all. I was a long time resident of Benicia and attended St. Dominics with Kathy. I know he will be missed. Lee Ann (Foster) Lantrip

Dearest Pat and family,
As you all know, I was Judge Swan's court reporter until he retired in 1989, and what a special man he was!!!
It was such an honor to work with him, and I have SOOO many special memories of our time in the Vallejo/Benicia Minicipal Court.
I ALWAYS stop at stop signs and wait until my car rocks, because of Judge Swan. He always told defendants that was the ONLY way to be sure you stopped.
And I admired how he always let defendants know how wrong it...

Dear Swan family,
I'm sorry for the lost of you husband, and father. Shannon Rourke (Stewart)

I have many fond memories of Judge Swan as I had the honor to have worked as his first Courtroom Clerk after the merger between the Vallejo/Benicia Municipal Courts. I always admired his wisdom, sense of fairness, respect given to all that entered his Courtroom and to all that were priviliged to have worked with him. He overcame many hardships while in service to his country, and his personal fortitude was always an inspiration. My deepest sympathy Pat and family. May God comfort you during...

So sorry to hear of Dick's passing. I had many good times with him at lunch many times while we were both Members of the Benicia Yatht Club, always a lot of laughs, and hashing over our days in Law inforcement and our military times in WW11. He will always have a place in my heart.
