I lived in Jackson Ward area of Richmond back in the day and distinctly remember Mr. Swann taking photos in the area. He was always so polite. I hope someone has his negatives and preserves them. They would be a wonderful record of that period of time (early 60's) in the Black community. It was very strange to see his photo in the paper... I had just been wondering what had happened to him and if he was still alive. RIP, sir.

I remember the first time I met Mr. Swann, my sister and I was was on Broad St. and he took our picture. There was no charge he gave us a card to give to mom and dad; I think I was 11 at the time. He has taking our pictures at school; church and weddings for over 40 years. Thank you Mr. Swann for a life time of memories through pictures that we continue to treasure. Rest in Peace.

I will always remember all the photographs you took while I was attending MLW. You were so professional and always snapping away when least expected. Your talent was amazing! My condolences to the family and friends.
Job well done!
