Not sure what to say?

It is an honor and pleasure to provide this comment about Richard Sweeney. Richard was such a bright light in the world of academic libraries. He was always helpful and instructive. I miss Richard and his dynamic smile and personality. I remember my last encounter with Richard at the ALA meeting in Chicago. We happened to be staying at the same hotel and shared a cab over to the McCormick center. I think of him often.

Richard was a great industry colleague and friend. He was always very generous and helpful to me as we both shared the goal of advancing scholarly research. He is missed greatly. Sincerely, Darrell W Gunter

Meghan, Moira, Tom and Maureen- this is Andrea (of Andrea and Erin) from next door on Borr ave in Reynoldsburg. Meghan, Moira, Erin and I used to play together. I am so sorry to hear about your dad-he sounds like he was really amazing.

Dear Janet, our hearts break for you and your family during this most difficult time. Memories of Richard are truly of his captivating smile and kind words. Please know that we send our loving prayers to you and the entire family for God's blessings to give you strength. Love, Janet and Dave and family

I have known Rich since 1996 but after getting to know him, I realized that he was the very kind librarian in the Atlantic City Library.

Over the years Rich was always very kind and generous to me and others in the in scholarly community. He always had a smile and a kind word.

I will miss him greatly and I wish I got to see his train set that we discussed often.

Please accept my sincere condolences.

Darrell W. Gnter
