I always remember Dick when we go to the Labor Day Parade in Northfield and see our friends who are members of the Hemlock Group.

Dick was a very special man. We have had the pleasure of knowing him just a short 15 years. We knew him mostly as a student of the Civil War, a dedicated leader and a chaplain, leading his flock. But Dick was so much more. He was a spiritual and compassionate man. Sorry to hear of the death of Dick. He was such a character...had so many talents. Barre Town will not be the same without him and his sense of humor. Rest in Peace and may God bless the family.

I grew up in a Big family with lots of siblings and lots of cousins!!! Uncle Dick was everyone's favorite Uncle....he was Santa every year, would always wish me a Happy Birthday (mine is the day after Aunt Mabel's and 3 days before his), tell jokes, and say something that left a good feeling.
