Not sure what to say?

I just got this news. I loved this man. He was my professional bridge between GVSU radio and over 30 years in Chicago as a news director. Beyond the laughs, he understood the immediacy of radio and the 'prime directive' of "get it on, now!" I know these moments come as we age, but oh, how this one hurts.

Dick Tetzlaff and I attended Northwestern University together and were Kappa Sigma fraternity brothers. Ironically, about the time of his death, another brother, Dwight Burkhardt, and I, were talking about our NU days and mentioned Dick. We discussed the great times we had together, including those when Dick and I starred as the two "end men" for three years running of the annual "Plantation Party" that was popular campus wide and attended by hundreds. It was very special to me when I danced on the Dick McKay Show in the mid-60s. We felt that his show was every bit as good as American Bandstand. Thanks for the memories, Dick. May you rest in peace.

All you girls were little and beautiful, though much quieter than your Dad you were really smart and did not miss a trick. I still...

My prayers go out to Carol and girls. I worked with Dick everyday while at WOTV. He made me laugh many many times. You will be missed Dick McKay! RIP!

A great friend and uncle. Your friendship and enthusiasm will always be remembered.
