I am so sad to see him go. It's been a few years since I've gotten to see his smiling face--"Face", that's what we used to call each other. I met him thru my mother, Diane, and I've always loved & appreciated his friendship. Goodbye Face!

Dick,
I don't think I ever called you Richard from the first time we met. From Chuck Snellings garage, to the Cellar, to Austin, to touring the Western United States(even though we were bogus), to all the clubs in Dallas, we were brothers in song and music. There's just me, Terry, and Chuck left now.(Lou's gone) but I guess you know that. I was so sad we had to go our separate ways and I will always regret it the rest of my life. I don't have the words to tell you what you meant to me. I...

I remember when Morris Lyda & I, as well as Sherry Hall, use to go see Dick play drums with Terry Hall at the Terrace Club in Dallas back in the '70's. What a blast we use to have "back in the days"! May God be with Dick's family and friends during this sad time.

Richard and I played in our first band together in 1964. We started the Esquires. He taught me a lot about music, singing harmony, and friendship during the 60s and 70s. We were part of an extended family and those of us in the band knew that he was the soul of the group.
We had us a party! I'll miss you, my friend. Your musical brother, Chuck

He was someone that could shine when ever he played music. He could make you laugh and not 5 min. later he would make you want to throw something at him. No matter what he was someone that you could count on if you needed help or friend. For all his highs and lows he will be missed. His music will be missed and we will always remember the fun times that we had at Charlie's III and other places. From I Shot the Sheriff to the Most Bueatimus Love Song he could sure sing a song. To the...

Richard was a very dear friend to both myself and Mark for many years. He made us laugh alot and we loved to hear him play, he was such a talented person. I will miss him so very much, he helped me through some tough times and I hope that I was able to help him through some of his. Richard always know that I love you and you will be sorely missed. I know that you are now jamming with the best.
