Richard Newton Turner was born on November 17, 1953 in Sapulpa, Oklahoma to Richard Kenneth and Wilma Maydell (Ward) Turner.  He passed away on November 17, 2016 at the age of 63 years old.  He lived his life mostly in Sapulpa and Kellyville.  He attended Mounds High School.  Rick worked and retired from Bartlett Collins Glass Factory.


Rick loved and enjoyed his wife and family.  He enjoyed going hunting and fishing with friends and family.  His most memorable “fishing quote” was: “Fish in hand better than fish in water.”  He also liked cooking and doctoring up chili with cayenne pepper!  He loved horses and working with them.  Another favorite thing to do was tinkering with cars and trucks.


Rick is survived by his wife of 41 years, Sandy Turner of Kellyville; son, Bradyn Joe and wife, Jennifer Cowan of Tulsa; daughter-in-law, Connie Turner of Franklinville, NC; granddaughter, Mackenzie Cowan; brother, Robert Turner of Tulsa; sister, Kathy Aston and husband, Travis of Bristow; brother, Don and wife, Lisa Turner of Sapulpa; as well as many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.


He is preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Maydell Turner and son, Ricky Joe Turner. 


Memorial service will be held at 12:00 pm (Noon) on Wednesday, November 23, 2016 at Kellyville Community Center, Kellyville, OK. 


Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Smith Funeral Home, 1208 S Main St, Sapulpa, OK.

To the family: I am sorry for your loss. I know Richard will be missed. Richard and I both attended Lone Star School. We were in the same grade. He was my boyfriend in the second grade. He was such a sweet guy. Praying That God will wrap His loving arms around each of you and give you peace during this time.

I LOVE YOU UNCLE RICKY. I ALWAYS ENJOYED BEING AROUND YOU. GIVE MOM AND BILLIE LOTS OF LOVE FOR US. UNTIL WE SEE YOU AGAIN.

Ric it has been an interesting life being your little sister. Our family wasnt rich but our love for each other got us through everything. I love you. I miss you. I will cherish all our memories and advise you gave me through out the years. Rest in Peace. I'll see you soon.
