Richard "Rich" Francis Ulrich II, 52 received the final gift of a peaceful passing surrounded by his loving family at home on Indian Rocks Beach, FL.
Rich was born in Perry, IA while his father was serving our country in Vietnam. Rich grew up in Columbia, SC; Newport News, VA; and Bellevue, NE before moving with his family to Florida in 1979. Predeceased by his grandparents, Rich is survived by his wife and soulmate Barb Dinda Ulrich, daughter Emelia, son Eli, father Dick Ulrich (Amy), mother Ann Margaret Ulrich (Jack Quinn), and many extended family members. Rich also leaves behind a life-long network of friends and colleagues. The gift of Rich's friendship was enjoyed by everyone that knew him.
A proud graduate of Florida State University, Rich had a successful career in the fashion industry. He truly enjoyed his work: most importantly, all of the strong relationships he developed with fellow employees at Burdines, Macy's, Tommy Hilfiger, Ralph Lauren, and most recently Barbour Inc. While his career required much travel, Rich cherished most his time at home with his loving wife Barb, Emelia and Eli.
Rich had a beautiful smile and wit that would light up any room or situation. He seized each day with a passion for life. Rich never met a stranger. He was particularly known for his technical and computer abilities. He shared that knowledge by helping colleagues, friends and family with their computer needs and systems.
Diagnosed with a Gliobastoma in August 2020, Rich fought his brain cancer with the strength of a warrior. Rich's family is profoundly grateful for the caregiving, love, encouragement and support provided by so many people who loved him, throughout the months of his treatment.
A Celebration of Rich's Life will be held October 1, 2021, Rich's birthday, details to be announced.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation to the National Brain Tumor Society, link included on this site.
