Not sure what to say?

Dickie was my favorite NOLA personality next to Al Hirt. He and I worked a debutante party and man, he could talk and mix dem drinks like nobody's business! He bragged afterwards of the numbers we served that day. A gentle giant, he was liked and will be missed by oh so many.

What a bigger than life man!

Yes.. he was larger than life... like his brother Zeke. Frankie & johnnie's. sp...and fat harrys.. in its infamous moments. he started the wine and food experience from scratch(a few others).. Not a mean bone in his body. He was good friend everyone at Brennans restaurant..especially.. as we all grew up in the da. area. he treated mary lyons oschner.. like a sister. Last i heard.. he moved to Hawaii.. A life ...well lived.

On behalf of Phi Kappa Theta Brothers from across the country, I offer our sincere condolences on the passing of our Brother. Our Fraternity has a short public ritual that can be performed during the wake or during other services. It can be conducted by any Phi Kaps in attendance. Please email me at [email protected]; I can share the script for the ritual. Just a short note of remembrance from a Tulane Graduate and Member of the DKE Fraternity from the 1971-1975 to thank Dickie and his Brother for welcoming us and so many others to Fat Harry's, My friend Beau Loker Shared the news of his recent passing. They touched many lives and will be remembered for their hospitality and wisdom. Thoughts and prayers to their family and friends.

Dickie was quite the fellow. Always good for a laugh or story. I played softball with him on several teams over the years. I was not aware of the strokes he had. Being across the lake we don't run into enough people when we come to the city. If I had known I would have visited him. My wife and I went to the wedding at Sacred Heart years ago but didn't go to the reception as we thought we were underdressed. I remember him beating my Easton Eagles in basketball back in 66 and a fight broke out...

A Legend lost.

Patricia, John and I were very fond of Dickie and your parents. Sorry we lost touch. I want to attend the funeral Tuesday but I will be conducting a meeting as president and have to be there. My thoughts and prayers are with you at this sad and difficult time.

Middle School and High School friends-long time ago but ever-present memories.
