Not sure what to say?

I just learned of Rick's passing in a note from his sister Nancy. I am the daughter of June Cook who was Rick's mother's good friend. Nancy, Jim, Rick and I grew up together at the 'old' Calvary Baptist Church on Beach Street where our mothers were very active. My memories are fond and many. My prayers are with you all now and in the days and months to come. We need to be thankful for such a wonderful person in our lives. May God's many blessing shine down upon you all.

Rick and I have been best friends since 7th Grade. We had the greatest times growing up in Syracuse and doing everything together. During school we had many of the same classes as well as working together at Loblaws Supermarket, delivering the weekly "Scotchman", going to parties, the state fair, boating, working on our cars, swimming, double dates, St.Lawrence camping trips and just clowning around. He had a unique sense of humor and outlook on life that I will never forget. Rick, now you...

We knew Richard as a child. We lived next door to the family. Our sincere sympathy to Nancy, Jimmie and the rest of the family.

I ran into Rick just a few weeks ago after not seeing him for a long time. How fortunate for me! Despite his own discomfort, he made me laugh as always. Miss you, Rick Vann.
