Vanderbeck Family,
I'm so profoundly sad to hear about Rick's passing. He was one of the kindest men I've ever met. He was courteous, caring, conscientious, an amazingly hard worker, and treated people the way he wanted to be treated. Rick was my long-time repair (and light construction) man. He was always at the top of my list. I was just bragging about him today to a friend of mine (when we were talking about an appliance that is not working) - before I heard of his untimely...

Deani, Kelley and Dan,
No words feel right to describe my feelings of loss for your family. Rick was an amazing man who touched everyone’s life that he was a part of. He shared is talents and laugher with anyone, and his gift of friendship seemed to know no bounds. He was so committed to his family, the family he was so proud of. I feel blessed to call him family and more than that a friend. As he did with many, he helped me with my house, being a single girl, this came in handy,...

Dear Dan & Kelley I am so sorry to hear about your dad. I have very good memories of myself and your dad. It goes way back to elementary school. We were together every weekend at the lake. I wish that as we got older we could have spent more time together. When you get older your family comes 1st then your friends. And as we heard at the service that was exactly how your dad and my best friend was. I just wanted to let you both know he will be greatly missed by all of us, and you are both in...

Kelley and Dan: I have some great memories of your Dad. He was like an older brother to me when I was much younger. One thing I'll never forget is the time he took me to the beach with your Mom. By the time we got there I was freezing my butt off because it was so cold in the car from the air conditioner! It makes me smile to think of that. It makes my heart break to think of your loss. Lot's of love . . . .Auntie Sara

Deani,
I am still at a loss as to what to say. From giving me a hard time about my falling grades back when we worked together in high school to replacing the central air where I live now, Rick has always been willing to help. It was so obvious the he cared about people.
I am sorry we were unable to attend the service yesterday, but know that you are in our hearts and prayers
