Not sure what to say?

I remember him from 14th Ave Methodist Church in Detroit, and he was at the forefront of social justice way back then. He was so kind, and though I don't think I ever saw him after 1964, I never stopped loving this man, and never forgot him. He was, and always will be one of those good lights that shine in your life and guide your life. Happy journey, oh friend!

I attended MVUUF and knew Richard well. He gave me wise counsel many times that helped me make important life decisions. I considered him my reverend and my friend. His sermons were deep, thought- provoking, political, intellectual, and filled with themes of social justice. I am pained that I will never hear a Richard Venus sermon again. Well, Richard, you now know the great mystery of death. I will be waiting and watching for clues to hear the wisdom you have to share about this. Thank you...

I was fortunate to benefit from Rev. Venus´ services and sermons when visiting the UU church in New Madison. My condolences to Marcia and family. Amy de Chicchis, 1st UU Church, Pittsburgh

Many great memories as a teenager attending Church. Enjoyed the youth trips we took. We were so lucky to have such a wonderful pastor growing up. He did a lot of work with the youth at our Church. He was always my favorite Pastor at our Church.

Condolences to the family. Reverend Venus was our minister at 14th Ave United Methodist Church in Detroit, Michigan. We have have many fond memories of his time there. We will never forget him.

To Marcia and your extended family: love and comfort and good memories are being sent your way. You two made a real impact in my spiritual and social awareness journey 25 years ago. Peace be with you. Trish McCarthy

My deep condolences to Marcia and family. He lives on in memory.
