Not sure what to say?

I was just talking to someone last week
about Dr. Viehweg. I told them that Dr. Viehweg,
(who was my 2 sons' pediatrician in the 80's),
was our "Mr. Rogers." He was such a caring and gentle man. I felt he had a healing touch. He was never rushed when he talked with us during appointments.
I was so sad when he retired, but he told me there were still a lot of other things he wanted to do with his life. I hope his family knows (and he knew) how much he was cherished by the...

To Dr. Viehweg's Family,

We are so very grateful to dear Dr. Viehweg, our childrens' pediatrician for 18 years each. So kind, so caring; an outstanding doctor and human. He meant so much to our community.

With love,
Larry, Gail, Elisabeth and Catie Siegel

We are truly grateful for having Dr. Viehweg as the pediatrician for both our children. He not only took care of them, but took care of us. His care and compassion will never be forgotten. When we crossed paths years later in San Rafael, he immediately asked by their names how they were both doing. He always remembered us and we will always remember him and keep him in our hearts.

I had the great priviledge of working with Dr. Viehweg, mostly on weekends in Terra Linda. He was the kindest person with a wonderful sense of humor. His patients loved him and even on the busiest, craziest of days he always held a smile and a kind word. May you rest in peace with the Beloved Dr. Viehweg, you will always be remembered by all those who knew you.

My husband and I had the great pleasure of getting to know Dick and Poseidon on our walks with our Jack Russell through the neighborhood. He was a lovely, kind man and the best 'parent' to Poseidon. We're very sad to read this news and hope his beloved doggie is doing ok.

Our children were nurtured through childhood by Dr. Viehweg, and we as parents were always reassured that what we were doing was "just fine." Those words, coupled with his beautiful smile, were such a gift. We were lucky enough to see him often walking in San Rafael, with his dog(s), and despite the fact that our kids are now in their thirties, Dr. Viehweg always asked about them. We all cried when he retired, and will miss this most wonderful man.

My 5 kids enjoyed Dr visits with Dr. Earwig! He always said something funny when checking their ears. The 2 girls ended up preferring a female Dr, but the 3 boys stayed with Dr. V & Dr. Arnhold & another whose name escapes! yes, he was a gentle, caring person
........... more of which are needed in this world! Thank you for your help & caring over the years. RIP....

I had the pleasure of working with Dr Veihweg at Kaiser and also having him as our pediatrician. He was the kindest, gentlest, and wisest doctor ever. My kids loved him. Whenever they were sick they wanted Dr Earwig as they called him because they were quite small and because when he checked their ears he would always say, are their any birds in there? No matter how sick they were that always got a smile. We were so sad when he retired but of course had wished him well. Then a few years later...

Dr. Viehweg was my doctor when I was a child in Marin in the 1970s. I remember him as an extremely kind and gentle man. In fact, I was just thinking about him a couple of days ago. May he rest in peace.
