Not sure what to say?

It was very good to know you in the short time that I was able to be of service to you and your family, Mr. Vieser. You were the epitome of dignity and of being a gentleman. And now, your son John David has gone home to be with you. All of mine and Cathy's love to your kids and the grandkids, and to Inga in particular. Godspeed to you and John.

I was going through some of my father's effects and found these two photos taken at Chatham Electronics in early 1956 with Mr. Vieser and my father, Charles A. Rowan Jr, who was a buyer for Western Electric then; our family lived in Chatham NJ at the time. I thought I would post them for anyone who might appreciate them for their historical significance.

It has been many years since I had the pleasure of knowing Mr. Vieser yet, he was one not easily forgotten. He had dignity, presence and a kindness that were enduring. I also had the pleasure of knowing Cynthia, John David and Jamie and these attributes instilled by Mr and Mrs Vieser were evident in each of them.
My prayers and sympathy are extended to Mrs Vieser and the Vieser family. We have lost a gentleman.

Dick was my cousin - but, moreover, the HERO and star of our family. Though we were separated geographically he never neglected to make me feel like I was his family,as well. I don't think a finer human being could ever have existed -( but his father, my uncle Bill came in a VERY close second.)

I am honored to have known this fine citizen and to have been able to call him my friend. His kindnesses toward me are moments that I will never forget ... particularly being included with his family on a memorable evening in New York City three years ago.
