Dick and his bother Henery 2006 - Rest in Peace Brothers!

Dick was one of my oldest friends. We met when I was in college and he was in Basic School at Quantico. No one ever made me laugh as much as he did. He followed my mother around our kitchen reading poetry to her as she cooked dinner. Being an English teacher

Dear Mary Sue, Brian, and Tracy:
I just want to send my condolences to you on Dick's passing. He was a really wonderful friend, and someone who was in every way larger than life. We will all miss him so much.

Today at the cemetery, as the Marines were folding the flag, for some reason I looked up, and saw a hawk. Soaring. Flying over the grave site. I watched until it flew out of sight. jackie Prior

Dear Welsh Family

Mr Welsh always made me laugh. He was funny, charismatic and had that unique gift of making everyone at ease. His joie de vivre is unforgettable and touched everyone who had the privilege to know him. I echo Jonas's comments on love and reverance for your family.

My prayers are with you at this time of incredible loss.

Much love,

Mary Sue and family- Dick was a great guy who I met at the Prep and was always available when I needed him as a guest speaker in my classes in Montgomery County Community College on the main campus in Blue Bell or in my classes at Graterford Prison. He was also a great character actor in Stalag 17 at the Prep and he transferred those talents to my classroom.
Our prayers and thoughts are with you and the family during these times.

Richard is fondly remembered from the moment when we first met in Mr.Pyne's homeroom 1E at Saint Joseph's Prep. We shared many memories as classmates from our years at "The Prep" to many shared classes at Saint Joseph's College. I particularly remember his witty participation in Father Wallner's Philosophy classes. We mourn the loss of this truly unique individual and the contributions that he made throughout his life.
Godspeed on your journey Richard!

Mary Sue & family - I met Dick through the Prep Alumni Board of Governors many years ago and he always had a knack for expressing himself and making an excellent point with the goal always being the good of the Prep. I always looked up to him and yet he always made myself and others feel like they were the most important person there. I am so sorry for your loss and the Prep & I will miss him immensely.

From crab cakes at that little dive in Rock Hall to swank holiday cocktail parties, from the deck of the Dismas to more golden shores, there's no doubt in my mind that Dick Welsh is still making someone smile, wherever he goes. Mr. Welsh, we were honored to know ye. God bless and Godspeed to you and those you leave behind.
