Saddened to read of the passing of Dick in the recent WPI Journal. We were brothers (Sigma Alpha Epsilon) at Worcester and graduated together in the class of 1954. My sincere condolences to all of the Wheelock extended family.

Our sincere condolences, Robert Wheelock and Diane Phillips

We lived in different worlds! When I saw a December sun going down here in snowy (except for this year) Munich, Germany, I knew the sun would soon be rising in sunny LaJolla. I knew that Dick and Betty would soon be getting up to start the day.

Dick was truly one of the good guys. He would always do what he felt necessary for wife and family. We lived in different worlds but had common values.

Rest in peace dear Dick. Our silent thoughts are with you . . . and also with Betty,...

I knew Dick when he was serving in the Army in Washington DC in the 1950's. We were both members of The Potomac Valley Radio Club and Amateur Radio enthusiasts. We operated together in many events. He was an excellent radio operator and a very good friend.

Dear Betty, Kris, Ann & Mike,

Our thoughts are with you all. We were lucky to meet your sweet husband and father, and we know he loved you all beyond measurement. He led an incredible life, with so much dignity, intelligence and love. Our hearts go out to you and your families. Love from the Terry Family (Kevin, Emily, Ronan & Quinn)

Dick was truly a great guy. He was my brother in law and friend. His humor was always on target and will be greatly missed. I have many great memories and he will never be forgotten. My condolences and love go out to the Wheelock family!

Dick was my mentor, my teacher in the world of backup power. Dick was patient enough to take me under his wing and teach me what he knew. His loss hits hard, as he was with me throughout my second career, and he was my company's biggest cheerleader.
During our time together, we became close friends. We spent hours laughing at our mistakes, our own insecurities, and at people in general. Dick had a nickname for everyone. Gila Monster, Willard Wildfire, The Aircraft Carrier, Spanky, Plastic...

Thinking of you all! Sending love and hugs!
