Not sure what to say?

When you know a person from early childhood there are so many moments you shared together that are forgotten, locked away, perhaps, in so many memory cells in your brain. Nevertheless, all those moments, experiences and events shape who you are now, how you think and relate to the world around you. Richie is part of who i am. It is really hard for me to express what those wonderful years growing up in Carmel meant to me but I come damned close when a think of a fun-loving, honest,...

Rich attended Carmel High School, located in rural Putnam County NY. We graduated together in 1962 the first class to reach 100 students. We all loved Rich who was a kind young man, intelligent and never sought popularity over kindness and courage. He attended most of our reunions, the last being 2022. It was always great to catch up on our lives and about his hope for a better world. His life was grand, and I was so enlightened by all he accomplished.

My fellow Marine , loved to tease you about being drafted into the Corps , but I know you felt a good deal of pride . RIP and a hand salute to you . Semper Fidelis , Jim Dusenbury

Rich's life was defined by compassion, adventure, and dedication to serving others. His legacy should inspire us to make the world a kinder, better place.

May Rich's memory always be for a blessing.

So sorry to learn of Rich´s passing. What an amazing man with an honorable and generous personal history of giving. My sympathies to Jan & family. Rest in peace, Rich.

My condolences to Rich´s friends and family, I worked with Rich several years ago when he was on the board of Earth Share of New York. He was a passionate environmentalist and true gentleman.

Our most sincere condolences

Rich's family and friends, Rich was a great colleague working to conserve public lands in New York State, with a good sense of humor, and a sense that we were all working towards the same goals. I remember his smile, dedication, and friendship.
