Not sure what to say?

What a wonderful man! A true officer and gentleman. I had the pleasure of working with Dick Whiting for 14 years and he was the most kind and considerate person. He was fun, too. I always admired what a wonderful husband and father he was, as well as a friend. He will be truly missed. My deepest condolences to his family and friends.

My heartfelt condolences to the family of Dick Whiting. He was a longstanding good friend of my father, AL Webb. Dick's passing, and that of my father, and many other peers recently, unfortunately is marking the end of the Greatest Generation of people ever known in this Country. Again, I am sorry for your loss.

A wonderful guy, always liked seeing him+Betsey walking up River Ter.or at Whitings reservoir

Thank you Mr. Whiting for being so kind to my mom, and me when I came to visit. I will miss your vivid stories and the reminiscing of your life as you showed me your memorabilia in your office. You were a true gentleman and a kind soul. You will be missed. My heart and prayers go out to the Whiting family.

Such a sweet sweet man, may he rest in peace.

You were a good friend and I always enjoyed talking with you . You were a true gentleman . You will be missed .

Dick and I spent many wonderful hours visiting at the Holyoke farmers' market starting in 1980. I would bring an extra chair so we could comfortably relax. Dick seemed to know everyone in Holyoke and having known him has left many fond memories.
