Steve and Richard enjoying dinner in Colorado Springs after his track and fie;d competition at the USAF Academy in early 2005.

I have fond memories of Richard who was just a few years older than me. I especially recall when he competed in a retired men's track and field event at USAF Academy back in 2005. He, Margie (my wife) and I later enjoyed dinner and a special visit at a restaurant in Colorado Springs which is where the attached photo of Richard and I was taken. Although Richard was older than me he faithfully sent me his Christmas letter. I always looked forward to reading about his travel adventures and his involvement in the seniors track team. He was an inspiration. Thank you Richard for a life well lived in the Lord. Cousin Susie

Richard was the cousin of my wife Dianne. He was such a kind, friendly, interesting and humble person! I always looked forward to his annual Christmas letter. His travel descriptions were so comprehensive, detailed and interesting! I also enjoyed reading about his competitive masters age-group track meets where he excelled in sprints and long jump and placed in the top three in several national meets! I am so sorry to hear of Richard passing away. He was a great cousin, and kept in touch once a year via phone call or even by visiting as he was passing through in whatever state we were living in. He will be missed; his smile, his gentleness, his caring, his sincerity.
