Richard H. Willemann

I was sad to hear that Mr. Willemann passed recently. He was one of my mentors during my years at WHS, and I could not believe that he's not with us anymore. I'll truly miss him, and I hope he rests in peace.

Mr Willeman was definately one of the coolest art teachers ever. You could always tell that his students held a special place in his heart. He loved watching them learn and experience their own love of art. And for that we (ANYONE who ever had him as a teacher) will always be grateful. He will forever be missed.

Looking back at the time I spent in high school, Mr. Willemann's jewelry making class was definitely a highlight for me. I was never that talented artistically, but he encouraged and challenged me to make complex and abstract sculptures that I still can't believe I made.

I will also treasure my discussions with him about pop music. We shared a love for 1980s music and he taught me to appreciate '(I Can't Get No) Satisfaction' by The Rolling Stones. It was nice to know that teachers...

It is shocking and sad to learn of Rich's demise. Too young, too young, and too unfair! He was a champion of the Arts and of student needs at Wellesley High and a competent, tough, and determined director. I thought he had many fine years of retirement ahead of him. He will be mourned and missed by thousands of young people who were lucky to have shared time in his classroom. I always admired the connection he had with them. My deepest sympathy to you.

Sir, as a fellow Marine I would just like to say thank you for your service and sacrifice for our Country when you served in the USMC. And to your family and loved ones, I wish to extend my deepest sympathy.

Seventh grade art class and 8th grade and high school jewelry will forever be among my best memories, because of Mr. Willemann. He just had this wonderfully wry sense of humor and a great way with students. I always always looked forward to class with him... from the time I was 12 until I was 18.

I am so incredibly sad to hear that he's gone...

Mrs. Campbell, I know nothing will make any of this better, but I just wanted to let you know how much he meant to me, and to so many...

Dear Diane , our thoughts and prayers are with you - please know that we are always available for anything you need. Richard was a caring man and always so nice to Brindle which meant a lot to us.
