Richard C. Winters, 85, passed away on July 21, 2023, with his family by his side. Richard was born in Springfield on August 19, 1937, son of the late Dorothy (Narreau) and John Winters. He worked at the former American Bosch company in Springfield as a superintendent, traveling regularly to the company's facilities in Holland, Italy, and Siberia. After his retirement, Richard worked part-time with Elm Electric in Westfield. More than anything else, Richard loved his family. Holidays and family get-togethers were the best times. He loved babysitting his grandchildren when they were young, and attending their sporting events as they grew up. He also liked golfing, wood working cooking, and going to dinner at Red Rose in Springfield. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Kathleen (Levesque) Winters and their children, John Winters and his wife, Adelia, of Feeding Hills, and Kelly Saltmarsh and her husband, Keith, of Westfield. He also leaves his four beloved grandchildren, Kaela, McKenzie (Kiana), Ian (Jordan), and Sydney, as well as his brother Samuel Winters and his wife, Janet, of Georgia, and his sister Virginia Kogut, of W. Springfield. Calling hours for Richard will take place on Friday, July 28, 2023, from 9:00 to 10:30am at the Corridan Funeral Home, 333 Springfield St., Chicopee. A funeral home service will take place at approximately 10:30, with burial to follow in Calvary Cemetery, Chicopee. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Richard's name can be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital (www.StJude.org).
