Rossi Funeral Home - Scotch Plains Obituary

Richard C. Worth, 61, passed into eternal life on November 11, 2021, after a long illness with the early onset of Frontotemporal Degeneration Dementia.

Rich was born in Elizabeth, NJ, and grew up in Roselle Park, NJ.  In his childhood days, he excelled at baseball in little league, receiving numerous trophies.  As a teen he also became an excellent bowler.  Rich was always athletic throughout his life, and as an adult he played baseball as a shortstop, jogging, and playing golf.  He was always a sports fan with his first love being baseball and the N.Y. Yankees, and the N.Y. Jets.

As a man, he was one the best, had the biggest heart, and was a Christian.  He was always and willing to help anyone who asked.  He was the best husband, brother, uncle, and son.  His love of life and his sense of humor was infectious as he was liked by all who knew him.

He was predeceased by his parents Evelyn and Clinton; his brother Don; and his pal and best friend, his dog Ringo.  Richard is survived by the love of his life, Nancy Taylor Worth; as well as his loving sister Gail (Al); his nephews Patrick and Jason, his nieces Katrina, Lindsay, and Kristen; also closest friends Dave and Sharon Larson, and Laurie and Richard Call; and his godson Kevin.

There will be a celebration of life in the spring at the start of the baseball season.  As a music lover we hope to play some of his favorite band Aerosmith.  If you care to donate in memory of Richard's honor, please donate to The Association for Frontotemporal Degeneration.

Rest well the Love of my Life,

Nancy

Not sure what to say?

I'm so sorry to hear this . My prayers and condolences to the family.
Rich was a great man. I wouldn't be at my job now if it wasn't for him. He took a chance on me when no one else would . He was always upbeat and easy going . No problem was ever to big . He would stay calm and address the issue . Rest in Peace

I am so sorry and upset to just hear about your passing. I am almost equally upset that I did not reach out to you the last few years. I will always cherish the years that we worked together , you were always a stand up person and one of the few trustworthy people I new. I will also remember all the times we played golf together and of course all the memorable card games. It was my privilege to be friends with you. Hopefully all the memories that you had with Nancy will give her some comfort...

Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. I'm sorry this is so overdue, we just found out about the passing of Rich. He was such a nice, kind man. The best boss I ever had. May the memories you hold in your heart bring healing and peace to your soul.

Rich was a great guy: We'd been friends since early childhood, and I can accurately say he was one of the most well-meaning, sincere, and commonsensical people I've ever known.
It's hard to believe he's gone.... It's difficult to grasp the fact that we've all lost such a dear friend, such a benevolent presence in our lives....

Nancy, So sorry for your loss. Thinking of you. Rest in eternal peace Rich.
Tracy (Forever Flowers)

Nancy,
I am fortunate to have known Rich. I will always remember our in-depth conversations regarding his Yankees and my Mets, and his Jets and my Giants. He has fought a tough battle. Take solace in the fact that Rich is in a better place. May Rich's life inspire all of us to do more good with our own. Sending you lots of love and comfort during this difficult time.
Our Deepest Sympathy,
Pat, Tracy & Nicholas

Nancy,

I still remember the day Rich came to Green Knoll, everyone was busy and I knew you were very nervous and I took the two of you upstairs. I really never knew Rich but from what you tell me he was a beautiful person just like you. Call me any time, I will give you my cell next time we talk. Peace to you and yours

I'm so sorry. Nancy I know how much you loved him.

Rich was a neighbor and friend. We used to visit over the fence between our yards. He always had a smile and a friendly word.
