Richard E. Wysong

Richard “Dick� Wysong, 84, Kokomo, passed away at 2:27AM Wednesday, May 5, 2010 in Howard Regional Health System. He was born March 24, 1926 in Kokomo to the late George Monroe and Gladys (Kelly) Wysong. On May 31, 1945 in Kokomo he married Ann (Dausch) and she survives. Dick served in the United States Army during WWII and then retired May 1, 1986 after 42 years of service from Haynes International, he then went to work for Bona Vista for several years. He was a past member of the VFW Post 1152 and the F.O.P. He is survived by his wife, Ann Wysong, Kokomo, three daughters and sons in law, Carol and Pete Rouse, Kokomo, Carla Valadez, Louisville, Kentucky, Connie and Edward Daily, Kokomo, seven grandchildren, and nine great grandchildren, brother and a sister in law, Bill and Marsha Wysong, Kokomo, sister, Eva Hendershot, Kokomo, and thirteen nieces and nephews. Dick is also survived by his loving pet dog, Abby. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Howard, Fred, and Earl Wysong, two sisters, Helen Johnson and Ethel Bogan, one grandson, Chris Burger. Funeral services will be at 1PM Tuesday, May 11, 2010 at Ellers Mortuary Webster Street Chapel, 3400 South Webster Street, with Pastor Ron Hurlocker officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memory Garden Cemetery with full military rites conducted by the United States Army and the Kokomo military rites team. Friends may visit with the family from 4-8PM Monday at the mortuary.
