Dick was a great friend and an inspiration, always ready with a bit of humor. Plus he taught me (and many others) lots of modeling ideas. We shall miss him very much.

I had the pleasure and honor to meet and get to know Mr Zimmerman through our mutual interest in model railroading. It was always a pleasure to associate with and learn from him. I as well as the other Southbound Model Railroader members miss him greatly.

I first met Mr. Richard at my tax office in Winston Salem, NC. I being the manager at H&R Block would do his return. I also introduced him to a better Medicare plan for him & Ms. Joan. A great person & I saw him about a week before he passed. He would walk several miles every day. Great people.

Richard and his brother Tom(or just one I'm not sure) would play music at their house on Schoolhouse lane, in a band I think, and it was wonderful to hear. Brass band if I remember correctly.

Please accept my condolences on the loss of Mr. Zimmerman. He was a gentle man who loved his family. He was especially attentive to his beloved wife to the end. May he rest in peace!

Mr. Rich, as I called him was a tax and Medicare client of mine for about 20 years. I was just at his house 2 days before his passing. He was showing me his latest project and I was at in awe of the mini town with a train moving into the station. The train could detach a car & re-attach it. A very interesting & lovely man who will be missed by me. Rest in peace in Heaven, Mr. Rich. Les Wilson.
