Lawrence Funeral Home - Chicago Obituary

Richard “Dick” G. Zyrkowski, 95, of Chicago, passed away October 7, 2023 peacefully surrounded by his family. Loving dad to Larry, Mary (Jon) Merritt, and Carlo (Michele); proud grandpa to Ross, Alec, Cheryle, Jessica, Angelique, Bruno, Faithmarie, and Anthony; fond uncle to countless nieces and nephews. Dick is preceded in death by his dearly missed wife of 35 years, Alina, his parents and his ten older siblings. Dick proudly served in the occupation of Japan as a Technician in the U.S. Army and used the technical skills he learned as an enlisted man to make a career he was very proud of in the manufacturing industry. Holidays and time spent in northern Wisconsin won’t be the same without him.

I would like to let Larry, Mary, and Carlo, know how sad I was to hear that your Dad had passed away. He lived a beautiful life surrounded by his children, whom he loved so much. I will never forget the stories he would tell me. Always reminiscing about me growing up. My thoughts and prayers are with your family. Keep your memories of him close to your heart. Jeannie Hicks
