Not sure what to say?

Rick, Mickey and I played on the same Little League team in 1962, the Red Socks. I was the first catcher to catch Rick in a Little League Minor League game. Hi dad and my dad were our coaches. Who would have thought it possible for two future major league pitchers would begin their baseball careers in High Wycombe, Bucks England.

Dear Sheryl,
I was so shocked to hear of Rick's passing. Please know that you , the kids and your large extended families have been in my thoughts and prayers.

I hadn't known that Robby played here in SA at Incarnate Word....haven't seen him since he was about 10 back in Marietta. I hope to get to a game and see him.

Rick was always such a gentle soul. His love for you and the kids was so apparent....let that love wrap it's arms around you and see you...

Sheryl,
I am at a total loss for words to describe how I feel after hearing about Rick's passing. Pat Murphy, The local sports anchor made the announcement at the end of his evening broadcast and I went numb. My first thought were that we have all lost a great friend and wonderful person. But, my thoughts are now there for you the boy's and Shannon. Our loss is the Lord's gain.knowing how much that Rick would miss his loving wife and family, I don't think he would trade places with us...

Though I only knew him briefly, I was impressed by his humble nature and generous ways. We met though our sons, who played baseball together. Rick was always at the games--supportive, soft-spoken and upbeat. I looked forward to seeing him at the St. Lucie Mets' games. He will be greatly missed.

I was just at the Braves Fantasy Camp in January, where Rick was a manager and pitched against the campers. Rick was a great athlete and fun to be around. He is a great guy who will be missed. The world just lost one of the good ones.

My prayers go out to Sheryl and her family...I came to know the Mahler's when my boys were playing baseball with theirs. Rick And Sheryl were always there at the games. They would do whatever it took to make sure that the children had fun while learning baseball. We had alot of fun with the family, we even had our end of the year party at their home...Just thinking back and remembering those times makes it seem like yesterday. Once again, my prayers go out to Sheryl and her faimly, if there...
