Malden ~ Rick McGill, 72 of Malden, passed away on Thursday, December 2, 2021 at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center in Poplar Bluff, Missouri.
Rick, son of Charlie McGill and Emily Swinney McGill, was born on Tuesday, March 29, 1949 in Malden, Missouri.
Rick was a long-haul truck driver and taught at a trucking school. He was veteran of the United States Army having served during the Vietnam war. He was very proud of his military service. Rick served as Commander of VFW Post 293 in Malden, was a member of the American Legion and also a member of 1st Southern Baptist Church in Malden.
On November 28, 1975 in Malden, he was untied in marriage to Mary Finney. She survives.
Other survivors include two daughters, Brianne McGill of Branson and Jenny Weaver and husband Odis of Jonesboro, Arkansas; three grandchildren, Jabin Weaver, Eleanora “EV” Weaver and Hazel Weaver all of Jonesboro, Arkansas; three sisters, Dora Thacker of Malden, Lawanda Vannasdall of Clarkton and Belinda Lauer of St. Louis; two brothers, Bill McGill of Texas and Jerry McGill of Poplar Bluff and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Ray McGill.
Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 6, 2021 at the Landess Funeral Home in Malden. Funeral services will immediately follow at 12 p.m. with Rev. Aulden LeBlanc officiating. Interment will be in Elder Cemetery in Campbell.
Landess Funeral Home of Malden will be in charge of the arrangements.

So very sorry to hear about Ricky. He was one of my favorite people in school. He was always smiling and happy. He was a little bashful but that only added to his cuteness. He will be missed. Prayers for his family.
