Not sure what to say?

Rick was a natural athlete like no other I've ever know and played with. He made every catch look easy. I remember riding my bike over to Rick's late in the morning to wake him up when we were in junior high and maybe early on in high school. Rich was a kind and generous friend!

My sympathy goes out to all the family members on such a solemn occasion. I will always remember all those wonderful catches Rick made especially for the fall football season of the 1961 Cathedral Oaks Vikings.

I was deeply saddened by the news of Rick's passing. My heart felt condolences to you and your family.

My caring thoughts to Leslie, his two daughters & his family members. I have known Rick since 1980, when he painted my entire home, inside & out. Beautiful work by a caring, thoughtful man. Thank you, Rick. I so enjoyed visiting with you when you repainted the exterior in about 2007. Great person, very much missed. Dolores

So sorry for your loss. I played at SMHS with Rick. He was the greatest receiver that a quarterback could have. He will be missed.

BY FRIEND, I'LL MISS YOU. PHIL HURSELL

Truly sorry to hear about Rick. I wish I would have found time on my visits back to Santa Barbara to find him and talk with him. Spent so much time with him from 3rd grade (Mr. Shields) to football and basketball at SMHS and the many years inbetween. He was a good friend and will always be remembered.

Very saddened to read of the passing of a great teammate and athlete. Please accept my sincerest condolences. I was lucky to have crossed paths with him early in my career.

It is indeed a loss - Rick was a good friend in HS and after.
