Rick was an amazing man. He took me under his wing when I was a young cross country coach for Pittsfield High School. I always loved coming to the Franklin meet as a runner and as a coach visiting with him.

If there was one saying to describe Rick Smith was first class. Whether it was running a conference meeting to Setting up a place to do the radio to watching him coach it was all done in a classy manner. TI heardf from many franklin students about his teaching and it always sounded like a class I would want to take. Rick will be sorely missed.
