Not sure what to say?

I am sorry to see this ! Rick and I went to graduate school at The Illinois School of Professional Psychology from 2006-08. He and I partnered up numerous times on projects . I so appreciated his perspectives and hearing his stories and covering the Middle East . I am glad to have known him! Very nice person .

Pam, We are so sorry to hear of Rick's passing.
We will miss joking with him while walking your
dogs. Our prayers are with you.

Pam, I am so sorry for your loss. Rick was a great guy to have living down the street. I will always remember him, not as a reporter, but simply as the nicest guy who enjoyed the simple pleasure of walking his dogs down Hutchinson along with the rest of us. I wish you and your family peace at this difficult time.

Dear Pam,

So glad we could share thoughts at the Memorial last Saturday - the room was filled with love - a little piece in all of us felt chipped away.

My heart goes out to you, I know you lost your best friend.

We will be thinking of you both often. xoxo

Dear Pam, I am so very saddened to learn of Rick's passing. Always overly kind in his notes to me, Rick was a beautiful soul. You are both in my prayers.

Dearest Pam,

Suspect few knew Rick better than I did. He was my roommate at Colgate and we shared an apartment on Sedgwick after graduation. He was best man at my 1st wedding, then stayed with us on our honeymoon!
A controversial guy? Perhaps. But doubt Rick would want it any other way. Simply put - he was one of the funniest, most talented, and self-effacing guys I was ever lucky enough to know. Besides all that, brother-Rick got the best looking women on the planet to fall at his...

I knew Rick about a thousand years ago. He was a great and talented guy and he'll be missed.

So sorry to hear of Rick's passing. He and I knew each other well during our high school days at New Trier. We worked together in many different ensembles, bands and orchestras. A wonderful guy and an extremely talented drummer, who went on to a quite illustrious career as a journalist! My deepest condolences to the family.

Although it has been said that each person is unique and irreplaceable, Rick Soll truly personified this statement. Not only was he sharp witted and vastly talented but his deep thirst to understand everything, left no detail omitted nor unexamined. His love for knowing life; for demanding its' examination has left each and everyone of us a better person. Rick, an honor to have known you; to have been your friend. You will be missed as deeply as you are loved-always.
