Ricky Emerson, 41, of Burnsville, Mississippi, formerly of Dalton, Georgia, died Saturday, June 17, 2006, at the Iuka Hospital as the result of an automobile accident. He was a Christian and a veteran of the National Guard. He was formerly employed in the construction industry and enjoyed yard work and outdoor activities. His especially enjoyed spending time with his family.

Visitation is scheduled for 5:00 until 9:00 p.m., Monday, June 19, at Cutshall Funeral Home in Glen. Funeral services are scheduled for 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 20, at Cutshall Funeral Home Chapel in Glen, officiated by Bro. Donnie Bobo and Bro. Danny Lambert. Interment will follow in Carpenter Cemetery. Cutshall Funeral Home in Glen, MS is entrusted with arrangements. Survivors include his wife, Sherry Emerson of Burnsville, MS; his parents, Cecilia and James D. Emerson of Burnsville, MS; and Arthur Wayne Rose of Dalton, GA; 1 son, Ricky D. Whirley, Jr. of Burnsville, MS; 2 daughters, Ciara and Brooklyn Emerson, both of Burnsville, MS; 1 brother, Dewayne Emerson of Burnsville, MS; 2 sisters, Michelle Johnson and Pat Wood, both of Burnsville, MS; 1 grandchild, Caden Reed Whirley of Burnsville, MS; 6 nephews; and 5 nieces. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Edgar and Essie Rose; Mary Evelyn Marshall; George McDaniel; and Mary Emerson.
