Riley Stonehouse

Riley Stonehouse, 17 of Sioux Falls passed away on Monday, August 28, 2017.

Riley was a fun loving, caring, thoughtful athletic and joyful young man that could not be beat by anyone. From day one he was drawn to people he felt needed attention or help.

Riley was a "mama's boy". He would defend, care for and keep an eye on how his mom was treated by others. Riley enjoyed singing Christian music and going to church with his mom. He kept faith always in his heart by attending Sunday school and youth group.

Riley had a deep bond with his sister Shoniya from the start because of growing up in a single parent household. They remained true and stuck up for each other.

Riley was a true athlete from when he was little. He could go on a track and run a mile and lap his mom who is also a runner. His size 15 shoe and being over 6 feet tall made him a complete competitor. Riley played junior football and basketball when he was younger. He spent years on the Whittier Middle School and Washington High school track teams, running the 200 and 400 meter dashes. Riley loved when his mom would leave work and come to watch him and cheer him on. He would make sure to look up in the stands for his fans.

Riley started working at Hy-Vee when he turned 16 to make sure he could get things he wanted and to learn the responsibility of having job.

Riley will truly be missed by his mom, sister, and his 2 dogs, Ollie and Remey, family and so many others he infected with his personality and caring heart.

Please know he is looking down on all of us with a smirk on his face and smiling.

Riley is survived by his mom Susie; his sister; Shoniya;, grandmother, Mary Campbell; papa, Les Campbell; uncle Steven (Darla) Stonehouse, Newton, KS; aunts, Sarah Stonehouse, Dallas, TX, Melessa Stonehouse, Wilmot, SD; cousins, Ashley (Brad) Hinderliter, Madelyn Stonehouse, Zoe Stonehouse, DeShonne Love, Jimarah Love, Darias Stickney, Kiana Bearsheart and Aubree Bearsheart; his dogs, Ollie and Remey; and special friends, Brad and Bev Koopman, Chris and Bri Koopman and the Maxwell family and Timothy Williams and Angela Harris.

Funeral services for Riley will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, September2, 2017 at Central Church, 3102 W. Ralph Rogers Road. Visitation will also be at the church on Friday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. with a time of sharing to be held at 6:30pm. Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
