I feel fortunate to have gotten to know Rita over the last 10 years. She always made me laugh with her sharp wit whenever we'd chat at the concerts. She knew she was very loved by her family. May she rest in peace. Mary M.

I'm so sorry to hear we've lost Mrs. Auriemma, a one-of-a-kind and wonderful lady. Rita was such a good, lifelong friend to our family, especially Lilly and Marie, and, like Andrea, I always liked to see her when we visited our cousins in Nutley. I remember fondly my dinner with Gina, Pat, and Rita in Chicago. My sincere condolences to all. Love,

It's been many years since I've seen the Auriemmas, but I will always remember Rita as the kind and funny neighbor who made me feel welcome in her home whenever I was in town to visit my family three (or was it four?) doors down on Washington Avenue. I wish her family all possible comfort in the days and months ahead.
