The mayor of our neighborhood has gone on to her eternal reward. Our favorite memory of Rita will be the first morning we were here when she came down the walk in 4 inches of snow with a loaf of bread and bottle of wine to welcome us to the neighborhood.

Rita was one of my mom, Jeannine Jeffs', dearest and oldest friends. They attended Rivier College together and were part of a tight-knit circle of friends that spanned their lifetimes. I will remember Rita for her quick wit, compassion, intense curiosity, and her resilience in the face of hardships. She gave me a shot of optimism and delight every time I hung out with her!
