Rita was my soror (Epsilon Sigma/ETSU Charter Chapter) in Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. Her sparkling eyes and joyful smile will always be images in my memories of her. Continue to RiP, my soror.

On this anniversary Ken and I are acutely aware of the continued grief that is in your hearts. We too grieve at the memories we did get to share with you and still mourn over the memories that will never be. O.C., Courtney , Aunt Cynthia and Aunt Callie know that the pain and tears that you still shed are remembered by Jesus and with Jesus nothing is ever wasted. Especially our tears. We will never forget Rita.

It is July 2020 and yet your untimely departure seems as though it occurred only yesterday. I wanted more time to get to know you. There was so much more for us to share and enjoy. Courtney is such beautiful living legacy and I wish we had chance to share the indescribable joy that is Austin Carl. We tell Austin about you and he calls your name in remembrance and love ❤. In spite of this journey called life, which continues to move forward, assuredly I can say that NEVER will you be...
