Not sure what to say?

I am so sorry to recently learn of Rita's passing! I worked for Rita for several years at the University of Miami when she led a federal program to implement Title IX in school districts across the Southern US. She was a mentor and friend as I completed my doctorate. I watched her career and contributions to American higher education expand and intensify. She was instrumental in my life and work and I know she touched many students and their families during her many years of service. Her...

We met Rita last year and spent two hours with her in a lunch that none of us wanted to end. Sadly, the next two hours dedicated to Rita were at her Memorial Service on Monday. Her family and friends wove a tapestry of beauty and elegance, drive and intellect that was a force to be reckoned with. Our deepest sympathies to her wonderful family and close friends. Thank you for sharing your memories with all of us. Jan and Jim Cummings

I am sad to hear about Rita Bornstein´s passing. She always spoke to me in passing. I remember when she found out her daughter was going to have twins. She surprised me with the " You make the difference "award. I will never forget her kindness & friendship. I am a f formal employee Rollins College Psychology Dept 1982-2004.

As a reporter on the Education Beat, I interviewed Dr Bornstein several times. She truly was the epitome of understanding what made great colleges such as Rollins triumph. God Rest your Soul Dr. Bornstein. Kathy Marsh Former WESH-TV Education Reporter

Dr. Rita was indeed a force of nature. So important and successful to the benefit of Rollins. A wonderful intellect who will be dearly missed.

A great friend to both Patrick and Sally Woock

I had the honor of having Dr. Bornstein as a English teacher at JFK Jr High school in NMB. When NMB Sr High open she was one of many teachers that transfered to the new school. I was again honored to have her again as my English teacher. When she became President of Rollins College I had just moved up to Orlando and had the opportunity seeing her out, in the Winter Park area. We talked about times in NMB. She was a teacher that had a big impact on my school days. Thank you Dr....

Rita Bornstein was introduced to the Rollins community as the wunderkind who successfully raised $500 million for the University of Miami. It wasn't long before Rollins College experienced similar Capital Campaign leadership success. I was in the room at the Fiat Lux celebration anointing Dr. Bornstein with an endowed professorship bestowed on her by the Cornell family. Rita fought relentlessly to save a landmark tree in the way of a construction project at Rollins' Crummer Graduate...
