Not sure what to say?

Unforgettable Rita, her kindness constant, a refuge for lost souls, a purveyor of beauty and solace, amazing Mother, grandmother, wife, friend, thank you for everything!

Rita was always such an inspiration, as a mother, a Catholic Worker, a friend. So good hearted and kind. So uplifting as an artist and a person. Thank you Rita! Blessings to your wonderful family

I think of Rita so often, how trustworthy she was, how comforting her presence was, how grateful I am to have known her

Could never forget kind, talented, dedicated Rita. From her making our wedding invitations to having heart to heart talks she has been a wonderful and lasting inspiration . Love to all the family.

Dear Family, I am so sorry to hear of Rita's passing and of all the tragedy surrounding the car accident. I knew Rita years ago, when she lived in Tivoli and I remember Dorothy,Maggie, Sara and Martin, Coretta may have been a tiny baby. I loved being around her as she mothered her children, tended to those living at the Farm and listened to everyone with a kind ear and open heart. Some years ago I drove to Brattleboro and we met a coffee shop and reminisced. I was so glad then and glad now...

Dear coretta and family, your mother was a delightful person. She was very close too tamar with whom i spoke often during the week and thus was kept informed of your wonderful family. Iwish i had time to visit over the years but i am 89 years old now and cannot travel very much. You are very fortunate to have rita for your mother. "God is love and he or she who dwells in love dwells in God. Blessings mabel egan gil

To All of Rita's Family - So sorry to hear of Rita's passing and your loss. I knew Rita many years ago at Tivoli. As pointed out to me recently, Rita and Marty were our elders in the movement of the 60's. They were in their 30's and we were in our 20's. Living in community can be difficult but Rita understood it completely and did it with grace. I appreciate having known her. Peace. Jim Wilson, NY

Dear Maggie and family,
Very sorry to hear about your mom...I did have the privilege of meeting her many times back when we had our gigs...She would come and listen to us sing and play, and at the same time she would be busy with one thing or another with her hands...She was kind considerate, and caring, as you are too! My deepest condolences go out to you, and your family!!!
Take care my friend!

Every once in a while you meet somebody whose rare qualities come into focus over time. You realize that they have been there all along--the great person you didn't get the greatness of yet--waiting, enjoying, just there, clear as a bell. Wow!
