Read MoreI met Rita when I started working at The Leader in the 1983. She introduced me to my husband, Brian. Rita was a special friend and her Faith was strong. We would go to daily mass at IHM. I remember her voice in the choir and how much she loved to sing.
Rita was supportive and encouraged me. I will miss her laugh. There will always be a place in my heart for her.

I knew Rita as a member of the Secular Franciscan fraternity we both belonged to. I am the Spiritual Assistant (Chaplain) of the group. I became a Secular Franciscan in High School in 1969 but am still learning, and Rita was a wonderful example of living the Franciscan spirit of Gospel joy and living in service to others for the love of God. Indeed, I truly believe she is in Heaven with St. Francis and St

So sorry to learn of Rita's demise. I enjoyed singing with her in high school choir and cheerleading. She was a kind and friendly lady. May God comfort her family.
