I didn't get a chance to talk to any of Rita's loved ones at the service, but I wanted you to know that her former co-workers at the East Site of UIC Children's Center were very saddened by her passing. We remember her guidance, support, and wisdom. We have been thinking of her often this week.
What a lovely service...so personal and poignant. How wonderful to have so many people sharing their memories of your mom.

Viv, your friends are here for you should you need ANYTHING during this difficult time. I am so sorry for your loss. I know how much you cherished your mom. You were so dedicated to taking care of her. May she be at peace.

Carla and Tony,
So sorry for your loss, and it is a mighty loss.
I will never forget how wonderful Rita is. I will never forget how much fun Rita had. I especially remember your wedding and marching out arm in arm with Rita and the special way Rita and I prepared for your wedding during the moments before.
I also remember her wise ways with teenage children and how very supportive she was.
I look forward to seeing her again in heaven and I am sure...
